The Fashion Tape Measure shows 300 years of fashion history on the 150 centimetres of a dressmaking tape measure. The flexible plastic measure thus has an original content and quotes fashion drawings from three centuries, which provide a concise reflection of the development of fashion history. From Madame de Pompadour via Toulouse-Lautrec to Twiggy, the individual garments present examples of the respective ages. The result is a costume ball of 300 years of fashion history. Every decade is shown with a representative costume. The development of fashion also enables something to be experienced of the political and social circumstances of the respective decade. The back of the tape measure, printed in red and black, is excellently suited to textile work at home: It shows a millimetre scale up to 150 cm beside an inch-scale.
